OUR HUNT areas
UNIT 1 PEDEE WEST
Unit 1 contains an upper area that is contoured along a scenic hillside providing excellent views during the hunt. Unit 1 also includes the most expansive area of riparian habitat. Although it has the smallest farmed area of any of the hunt areas the birds have no problem finding their way into the grain. Unit 1 includes 120 acres of mixed habitat. Ask any of our guides which unit they would like to hunt, your answer will most likely be unit 1.
UNIT 2 PEDEE east
Unit 2 has quite varied habitat. It has areas of native grass, farmed cover, riparian zone, as well as brushy creeks and oak woods. Unit 2 comes in at just over 130 acres made up of half hill side and half flat ground. Unit 2 allows hunters to stay close to the truck or stretch their legs and discover some great habitat that is tucked back off the beaten path.
UNIT 3S maple grove South
Maple Grove is our flattest area and is the easiest to walk. It has a number of feed-plots and strips in the middle of the open farmed fields. There is also plenty of opportunity to get in the weeds around the river bank and along the wooded edges of the area. Sitting at 75 acres 3s offers plenty of room for big running dogs and larger hunting parties.
UNIT 3N maple grove North
Unit 3N is our smallest hunt area at 50 acres. It sets up perfectly for small hunting parties, shorter days in the field, and good bird contacts to build experience for dogs and handlers.
